Full time jobs are hard to come by, so there are MANY people who have to get TWO part time jobs to make ends meet, and there's zero coverage for them through both employers that way. Obamacare helps, but I found out this year that you have to make a certain amount to qualify for THAT, and beyond that, you're on welfare, like it or not. And the welfare system sucks. If you have something wrong, it's a month wait to see a doctor, then another two weeks for the request for a referral to go through, another month to get the first appointment with the specialist doctor, and finally another month to get the appointment for the actual treatment. By the time I'd gone through the system, I'd missed two full months of work and the painful gastritis I had had eventually resolved itself.

Thankfully, I don't know any Americans who genuinely believe our healthcare system is fine. I would punch them in the face if I did. It so blatantly favors the rich, it's ridiculous.

To be honest, my self-worth took a hit during that agonizing period, too. Clearly our system thinks I'm not worth hastened pain relief because I don't have a good enough job. Thanks, Murrika.
