@TheChainmailGuy The story that I heard was that American troops were stationed over there wanted to celebrate Christmas with turkey, however, being in a foreign country they didn't really have turkey. So they bought the second best thing which was KFC. And I believe the Japanese appropriated this and now celebrate Christmas with Yule Logs (the French confection kind) and KFC.
