It's funny (not really), but when I saw that America came in at #14, my first thought was, "Aww, HELL NO!!! This stupid index is RIGGED!!! ... no way Americans are THAT happy."

I dunno... I'd put us somewhere down around the high-30's, low 40's. Doing better than countries actively being bombed into oblivion, but worse than nearly any other country with reliable indoor plumbing.

USA is quite happy? Bull. I know for a fact poor whites in Louisiana and Missouri sit around their trailer parks, miserable, convinced the government is taking advantage of them, blacks and Mexicans are taking advantage of them, women are taking advantage of them, Obama's giving everyone a free phone... except for them! I know this because I grew up around those unhappy m-f'ers. Red-staters are the most miserable people in the country.

Interesting, Humon, you made me think. I thought you would make UN white but you did better. You put UN as a Blond Black because the UN is the most multi-ethnical we can think of. I would suggest putting also some Asian traces, but he sounds nice nonetheless.

In a world so troubled and dismal for so many people, squabbling over 1st or 2nd place is like looking out over a table full of amazing food and lamenting that there's no no ice in the water, while people outside your window are starving.

@RegsaGC Actually ... there is a reason my avatar is Sister France. I am re-studying / brushing up on the language, in preparation to move permanently to France. That's assuming that the female Trumpfuhrer, Marine Le Pen, doesn't win their presidential election. The likelihood of the US turning socialist is almost nil. There is way too much individualism and selfishness here, as evidenced by the stormtrumpers.
