Fan Art: Siblings in Arms

Brother Slovakia and Sister Slovakia dressed as partisans of Slovak National Uprising during WWII, standing next to armored train Zvolen.

Okay now, their costumes are not 100% based on reality, just on rough descriptions and small B&W pictures and my own imagination. Before you ask why is brother Slovakia's bandana a Russian flag, then I must inform you it was actually the flag of Tiso's fascist Slovak State before. He ripped it off a pole, put on his face, and covered his eye he lost in combat with a slovak emblem eyepatch to form the today's Slovak Flag. As for sister Slovakia, she is a pilot of Slovak Insurgent Air Force (okay I guess they didn't have any female pilots but she looks cool like that) She's got the logo of the Insurgent Air Force on the bottom of the shirt. It was actually a mixture of Czechoslovak Air Force logo and Slovak National Emblem. Oh and as for the train, I've originally wanted to upload this picture without any background, but I accidentally ran into the picture of this badass thing, so I just had to put it there. And yes, it was being used during the Uprising. (P.S.: Dunno if today's Slovak Republic flag has been ever used back then, but I decided to put it in anyways.)

@Deadhart Oh, now that picture of them all as pirates is an awesome idea! Can't wait to see it, if you upload it here :D

@Ichyer - thanks a lot, glad you like it! I'm going to draw some more when I'm feeling artistic someday.

@Nyleika You reminded me of something, someday I'm going to draw Slovakia, Slovenia and Serbia together as pirates, with each country's icon as their eyepatches. Probably next week I'm doing it.

@Dutchbag (responding to your comment about Polandball) This is very true... but I'm Slovak, not Serbian. Therefore, I prefer the Slovak badassery :)

9:04am Tue 12th Jul #514412

@Dutchbag Yeah they used what is today's Russian flag just with darker blue. But the Coat of Arms existed back then and looked the same, it was just not on the flag.

8:54am Tue 12th Jul #514375

@Deadhart Oh, the slovak republic flag was used back in the day, just without the coat of arms and a darkey blue.

4:10am Tue 12th Jul #513957

@Dutchbag That is where I took inspiration from. I think I even saw Slovakiaball with an eyepatch, but in his rare appearances he usually had no eyepatch.

@Nyleika In Polandball, Serbia has a badass eyepatch. [link]

@Deadhart This is true. But that eyepatch is badass.

5:23pm Mon 11th Jul #513164

I would love it if Brother Slovakia in this pic was a possible avatar.

3:11pm Mon 11th Jul #512818

@Nyleika But mine does not have such a fancy beer-golden hairstyle :D

3:02pm Mon 11th Jul #512786

I think I like your Slovakia(s) better than mine...

1:35pm Mon 11th Jul #512481

DAMN IT! The train that is in the background is not Zvolen, but Hurban! Replica of Hurban preserved in the City of Zvolen (yup), to be more accurate. I mmediately knew there was something fishy whe I remembered the other two kickass armored trains used in the Uprising were called Štefánik and Jánošík. They're all called after famous Slovak figures. Daaaaaaamn it I could use an edit button for the picture description here.

1:25pm Mon 11th Jul #512449

@Dutchbag: Oh yeah that. Anyways the Spitfire was always my most favourite WWII plane. Sure, it was not the best, mainly due to small flight range, but it kicked ass anyways and was definitely the prettiest.

1:17pm Mon 11th Jul #512421

@Deadhart I ment that the Dutch pilots flew spitfires in the battle of Britain! :P (Hehe, true dat.)

1:16pm Mon 11th Jul #512415

@Dutchbag: Wow, really? I knew they were used outside of Czechoslovakia by Romanians, Hungarians, Croats, Germans and now I read that even by Greeks, but never heard abou the Dutch using them.

(Btw., it is interesting that we started a dicussion like this based just upon the Insurgent Airforce eblem on Sister Slovakia's shirt, lololol)
