Hate to start an argument but as one of those uninsured and thus thousands of dollars in medical debt thanks to ER bills as well as being out of work for three years due to torn rotary cuff that was misdiagnosed by 'competent care' and no disability because I can't afford a lawyer poor folk, yes, there does need to be a change in the health care of our nation and you do not speak for all of us when you say 'we'.
I don't enjoy the idea of being forced to pay insurance which is basically embezzlement, buy insurance or go to jail, but don't police the insurance companies from outrageous premiums, late fees, and bs policies like pre existing injury though- that would infringe on free market! But it is obvious making minimum wage (6$ an hour lol no unions in the south) for a job that can take you out in one injury will not pay for a 300$ dollar ER visit with pain reliever prescriptions being jacked up and all the bills being dumped on the tax payers because I simply can not afford the bills let alone living expenses or therapy. But obviously it must be my fault for "not working hard enough" like rich people must have to get rich like they are (you know, the ones who work for insurance?) and thus I whine and complain that I should be entitled and all the while the tax payer STILL has to make up for the debut anyway as there is no hope of me being able to pay any of it back anytime soon, but if I DID have health care it would have already been taken out of taxes- of which I pay too when i DID work- and I wouldn't have had to worry about being in debut, but god forbid we raises taxes because paying to make sure everyone is taken care of with medicine and food is just down right socialist commie unamerican!
Even though a plan for such things including dental, doctor visits, food, and such was included and implemented back in the 50s! But hey go ahead and speak like the "massive, impersonal bureaucracy" is really ruining YOUR life because some sick or injured people were cared for on every bodies dollar- I guess "one nation, indivisible" only means the healthy people with money.
Ad that my friends is the other side of the argument. There are thousands like me working risky jobs for little pay, coming home with chronic pain from factory jobs- because that's all that's offered in the south basically- which is why the US has the most expensive medical care debt. But you don't get to hear that. Only that the poor are lazy and want to take money they didn't earn. The system does NOT work for everybody, which is why it changed. If it was working just fine we wouldn't be in trillions of dollars of debt and nobody would need to change it. Nothing against you mate, but that kind of entitlement argument just seems misinformed. WE don't want to be forced to pay insurance any more than you do, but we will for the good of everybody. Why won't you? UNITED states my friend. UNITED.
Well, apparently since Canada hasn't noticed, somebody should probably tell them. We don't want any kind socialized health care plan. There's a reason shit hit the fan so hard after Obamacare passed, and it wasn't because we were happy. Far from it. You can point out all you want about how Obamacare isn't "truly" a socialized health care plan, but it certainly is too close for comfort. Polls have consistently shown that the vast majority of Americans (northward of 80 percent in most polls) are either mostly or completely happy with their current plans, and about the same percentage is against overhauling the health care system into yet another entitlement program. I understand that there are uninsured people that need to be insured, but instituting yet another massive, impersonal bureaucracy to fix the problem is like using a cannon to kill a mosquito. So you can keep your mass of red tape and bureaucracy, while I'll stick to being able to get competent care on the same day I walk into the emergency room with a steering wheel jammed in my lung.
D: Ouch. That hurts. Canada did beat America in the Olympics though....it's not our fault that the Vancouver Canucks suck....and the Oilers....and the Maple Leafs....but don't make fun of the Habs. They've still won more Stanley Cups than any other NHL team. :P
@tfk
Well I wasn't one of them, and I feel bad that all of Vancouver is suffering by dumb people who were doing the riot. Still, can't wait for next year
M
... Yeah, America Beat Canada LOL. With how many American players scoring?
