@Jonas_Hrafnagil no they do things historically and have strict rules about that but I think those rules are getting nerfed now. I think they took all the O-I concepts they could find and swapped the turrets and armourment to make them fit in the game in the way they wanted. tier 5 had the OI and its designation is the OI-exp because those were prototypes and the japs wanted to build the better version seen in blueprints. the OI-exp you see on the internet wg call the O-HO. the O-ho was the other tank being built I think. in the game its tier 8 with the most powerful gun and turret of the lot, but as I said I think they swapped the moduals round a bit. the turret on one of the the drawings of the O-ho however has the O-Ni turret. the O-NI is also seen in a drawing which can be found on FTR and is in tier 7. so basicly I can see that WG have taken the hulls of these tanks in a manor that would make them able to build a tank branch and then just slapped on which ever turrets and guns seemed appropriate for the tier (level).

I still cant find anything about the type 4 and 5 versions of the O-I series at tiers 9 and 10 other than WG stuff. what i'm trying to do here is find out where exactly WG got their badass imperial heavies from.
i know games are an unreliable source of info. it has been since they included the Chinese tank line

oh and yes please :) tell me how many jap tanks you see. these ww2 books aren't big on prototypes or blueprint designs or stuff like that. what book is it? i use this one https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=weapons+of+ww2+book&espv=2&biw=1024&bih=643&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwj9pqzRmM_JAhXMChoKHSq5ApUQ_AUIBigB&dpr=1#imgrc=v5MCbEIT-I0GYM%3A
