@Lambert2191 What you're missing here is that it's not just the up-market German cars whose prices would go up. It's the same for the vast majority of car models sold in the UK. And not just the European brands, since most Japanese and Korean manufactures build many of their European-market cars in EU countries. Out of the 50 best-selling cars in the UK, more than 40 would be subject to tariffs.

So yes, the sales of German cars would probably diminish somewhat, but not as drastically as you're suggesting. I don't think the British car-buying public would be ready to accept a massive price rise anyway.
