Those words are not just finnic.
The germanic words 'wary' and 'war' seem to be related as well.

I still believe that those are part of a subset of common words from old eurasiatic, depicting something physical related to mathematical derivatives.

PS. There is also an estonian word 'vare' (or in plural 'varemed') = english "ruins remaining".
Like, 'inimvare' = a very worn out human with basically no life force, just a bunch of bones. Like coming out of a concentration camp or a Gulag camp. So with 'inimvare', almost everything has fallen off of him / her.
