@friendly_creeper I wouldn't say that American's "found" the word "gay" as much as it has been a part of our language since British colonization, and a part of theirs since before that. It also meant "fun, happy, etc." until sometime in our not-so-distant history when it took on the meaning for homosexuality. It now shares a dual meaning, but the first is considered antiquated.
