No we don't - we are just all too polite to riot about it if we care. But I remember doing a lecture to students aged 16-18 about human rights and raised this as an issue. Almost without exception, the kids said if we are not doing anything wrong, it doesn't matter: if we are doing something wrong, we deserve to get caught. They gave the same response to I.D. Cards. Except for one young man who looked very much like your portrait of Finland, and was very concerned. Youngsters seem to be used to living life under costant scrutiny. George Orwell was very perceptive and far seeing at times.
