@dumdristig Well it makes sense if you live in a big country that gets a lot of it's stuff from itself. As a very small country we always have to deal with others to get the things we need. And then there is interest in others. As a nation that used to sail all over the world we are very interested in geography. But I would have imagined that people with European histories would have some interests. But that is just because I have too much interest I guess, and people on this site are here to learn and laugh.
I understand it being tricky to go to a country where English isn't spoken so well, but living in a country where everybody at least tries to speak English and have quit a high level, it's weird that people do not speak it or think people won't speak it... Especially in west European countries...
But due to sites as this (and more stuff on the internet) people will hopefully learn a lot more ;)
