@Lumoseo I do agree with you, except for the point where you said that Meyer doesn't have the right to alter them, since they are mythological. All their characteristics are based on rumors, folklore and personal beliefs, which have probably changed several dozen times throughout history. So there is no way to determine what a "real" vampire is anyway.
I agree that Twilight is basically a sissy version of vampires and that she made some things up, but her depiction of vampires became very popular (if you like it or not), so it's somewhat legit.
