@frost Thanks! Victorian England is a fun era for dressing up. In August we go to the Renaissance fair in Hollister, CA, and I dress up for that as well. I dress up for everything, especially BayCon, a science fiction and fantasy convention on Memorial Day weekend. That's when I wear my corsets. They're beautiful and more comfortable than you'd think. The back support is very nice. It's just a matter of how tight you lace the corset. Then, be careful how you sit in certain formal, overstuffed or wing chairs as they can cause "turtle-on-the-back" syndrome. Someone has to haul you out of the chair.

Colonial America is an interesting time. Life and culture was pretty fragile. The new arrivals weren't experienced in survival, and they sure weren't linguists, able to easily converse with the native tribes. Too many flora and fauna were unfamiliar. They didn't know what to eat or what would eat them. I'm not going into the politics or religion. This period in time also taught the British not to go fighting in red uniforms in dark woods as they stick out like big red targets.

In 1976, our school spent a week dressing and eating and playing games that kids did in 1776. I didn't know chicken a la king was a popular dish back then.
