i think its other way around- im happy we didnt go this way. Lets face it, what does cross in other Nordic flags stand for? christianity. But considering, that Estonia has always been one of least religious countries in the world, it wouldnt fit the identity, now would it? Besides, you can honhestly claim, that Nordic cross flags come from Estonia- Dannenborg was supposedly first used in here and since other Nordic cross flags derive from that....
@Meelis13 Pity you didn't go for it. [Not that I like the crossflags, but more as to create a stronger public opinion in the Nordics that you are indeed Nordic]

The crossflag was proposed in 1919, not 1991. As Estonians knew that they are Nordic and didn't need to prove(like the Finns) that to the rest of the world, they didn't act like us, Finns, and chose the more beautiful tricolor.
