Fan Art: Country hats

Haha! You're not the only one America =w= Go away England you can have him later! D:<
INFO: Yeah there's a North Ireland that's ruled by England. But North Ireland is still Ireland's bro! I did this in a notebook but decided to redraw it here and post it. But before it was a comic of canada america and the duo. No England, but I'm too lazy to make comics xD MSpaint sucks too :\ Enjoy~

The Tricolour is flying backwards? Green is mast side. and I feel that it should be the Flag of Ulster as a hat, not the Tricolour.

I'm not ignoring them, they are just the minority. In a democracy the majority rules.

@Cravey
But there are a lot of nationalists, and you can't just ignore them. They were ignored by the old Stormont government, practically inviting the Troubles.

The majority of Northern Ireland supports Unionism, even among catholics.

@Cravey
Yeah it was used for the entire island before the South became independent. Then again that may be a reason why NI wouldn't want to use it, it is also pretty boring :L
The Ulster Banner is usually used for NI, for example in the Commonwealth games, but it is associated with Unionism.

@Deinosuchus
I have seen it used a couple of times. It is the one that is a red cross on white background.
And there is still the Ulster banner.

@Cravey
Good point, but it doesn't have an official flag especially for itself, if you know what I mean.
St Patrick's cross do you mean? It may be a good neutral flag but I've never seen it used in NI

@Deinosuchus
Actually it does. As a part of the United Kingdom the Union Flag is an official flag of NI. The Ulster Banner is also the official flag of it's football team and there is also Saint Patrick's Saltire which is regarded as a good 'neutral' flag.

NI doesn't have an official flag, This NI spirit must be representing nationalist Northern ireland

Why does Northern Ireland have the wrong flag?

8:32am Wed 17th Aug #638700

I always loved Canada as America's hat. I love to see other countries hats as well ^_^

@FiannaRuaNicMhathuna To be fair though, we do exactly the same to Andy Murray when he loses wimbledon, and he is Scottish! It's just a really bad thing our press does >.<

Perhaps brother Ireland has the burden on Unionist Northern Ireland?

SisterGermany, where did you get the idea of Northern Ireland (that's the name of the six counties of the province of Ulster that are under British rule, not "North" Ireland) being a hat? Most of us see "the North" (AKA Nordyland, in a derogatory sense) as a sort of scar reminding some people (who weren't there but are stupidly convinced that it is an insult to them) of the dark side of British occupation that lasted 700 years. The rest of us who have brains don't really care that much, apart from when the Pound(Sterling) is stronger than the Euro and then Asda gets swamped.
TBH both the Republic of Ireland and England only want Northern Ireland when it suits them. There were talks of handing N.I. back to the Republic when the UK was doing horribly in economic terms, but that fell through when things picked up again. Prime example: sports. When Northern Irish golfer Rory McIlroy is playing well, the BBC call him British. When he's having a bad game, he's Irish.

Ps. I am from a town just on the Republican side of the Northern Irish border.
