Fan Art: The Celts
I wanted to make all characters for the six nations that make up the Celtic League; Wales, Scotland, Ireland, Cornwall, Brittany and the Isle of Man.
Wales - There was already a design for Wales so I decided just to redraw him. I have him a rugby ball as rugby is very popular in Wales.
Scotland - Scotland also has already appeared in the comics so I decided just to change his design a little. I attempted to add a tartan pattern to his Tam o' Shanter (cap) and made his hair more reddish in honour of a Scottish friend I have.
Ireland - I chose not to use the same shirt that is used in the comics for Ireland as it only represents the Republic of Ireland rather than Ireland as a whole. I came up with a neutral design to represent all of Ireland. Ireland also holds a beer bottle because the Irish are know for loving beer.
Cornwall - I didn't really know how to portray Cornwall as I've never heard much about them other than that they are the most relaxed of all the English people. I based the design on England but made him seem more laid back.
Brittany - Brittany is France's cousin so I gave him a cigarette and a bottle of wine. I kind of messed up on his flag, I apologise if this upsets you for some reason.
Isle of Man - The Isle of man is the smallest of the Celtic nations and is often forgotten about by others.

They're completely and utterly irresistible! But I think you should have drawn Isle of Man with a sad expression, to emphasize the fact that he is left out and forgotten

@ParanoidSpy No matter how the UK is related to each other, Wales x New Zealand is still incest. Though I see New Zealand as more of a pet than a daughter. I also don't think there should be a different stereotype for Northern Ireland. It's not a well known country and Englnd basically represents the rest of the UK anyways. I agree that Wales, England, Scotland and Ireland should be brothers

@tfk I always imagined that Scotland, Wales, and Ireland (though I'm not sure how to make the distinction between Northern Ireland and the Republic applicable to SatW) were the younger brothers of England, who bossed them around so much. Then again, that theory would mean that Wales and New Zealand are uncle and niece, so it's not a perfect theory.

@tfk "related doesn't always mean by blood related by marriage is still related (unless you get a divorce)" anyway I'm not pairing them in SATW, I was just being silly, but in my CSF (which is four days older then SATW btw) Scotland and England are "to stubborn to get a divorce" husband (Scotland) and wife (England)

@Cravey they do have celtic revival projects, and their celtic by any other measure, don't see how it isn't worthy of mention.

England isn't part of the Celt family... so that means we can pair England and Scotland and it won't be insect
(though I won't pair them in SATW but with my CSF (Country Stick Figures) (which is four days older then SATW. btw ) (actually they're "to stubborn to get a divorce" husband (Scotland) and wife (England) and their son is The Untied Kingdom but everyone just calls him U.K)
I was originally going to have U.K be the parent (since he was my first CSF) but I thought it would be best to have it the other way around (and it did ^^ )

As a Norwegian Scot (born Norwegian but sees self as a Scot) I would be more than happy to see Scotland as a part of the Nordics :-)
