Scandinavia and the World
Scandinavia and the World

An Assortment of News

Introducing Niels
Humon, the creator of Scandinavia and the World, also makes another comic called "Niels." It's about an evil, bisexual, Dane and the people he encounters.
Niels just got his own website. It's a bit bland at the moment, but it will grow, just like SatW has :)
If you're a fan of SatW, you might like Niels, so please follow the comic on Facebook and Twitter.
*Comic of both SatW and Niels*

Helsinki Competition - NOW CLOSED
This is a mini competition for fans who live in Helsinki, Finland.
SatW teamed up with a company to get SatW postcards and magnets into souvenir shops. I've been told that some are on sale now in the main railway station at Helsinki.

MCM London, October
A quick update for those who want to see Humon and myself at the London MCM in October. The table for SatW has been booked. This means we will definatly be there :D
Travel expenses have been calculated. Next up I'll be researching hotels and making loads of lovely loot. London hotel suggestions or tips are appreciated.

Usability Tests
I've recently been running a few usability test to improve the SatW website.
Test: Where would you click to view another comic page? Results.
From the results of this test I decided to add a new Gallery and Random buttons to the right of the comic. I have also made clicking on a comic take you to the previous comic.
Follow Up Test: Same question, new image. Results.
I ran the test again with the Gallery and Random buttons shown. From this test and feedback I change the Gallery button to "More" and decided you all have dirty minds :XD:

David Lost His Job
I was working as a Pall-bearer. Before each coffin goes into the hearse it is checked to make sure it contains the correct person and the name plate on the top is accurate. We are also supposed to check if jewellery is to be left on or taken off. This jewellery check was missed and a coffin was laid to rest with a ring inside, a ring which the family desired.
A very sad day for me. I loved that job :(
I'm now available for web development work.

In the second link in the "Usability Tests" a lot of people seem to be clicking on the "specimen" in Iceland's jar.

@Dayvi You should tell Humon that she should make more comics where the characters "personalities bounce off of eachother" as she puts it, like in "Just another morning". I think those comics are some of her funnyest work.

P.S. Sorry you lost your job Dayvi.

@DogLovingFinn
could have been an heirloom
or the family could have jsut wanted it, my grandma is moving and all my aunts and my mom want pretty much all of her stuff
the only stuff they don't want is a couch with some mouse poop in it and even that is up for debate ^^

@dayvi sorry about your job... why was the ring so important anyway? was it a diamond ring or did it have some kind of special inscription or what?

@EatMyEars I'll be okay. It was just the best job I ever had. There's not many jobs where you dress up smart, help people during a difficult time and get paid loads of money. Meh.

Is your flat any good? :)
