How the North works 1 6, 12:56pm

@Friendstastegood: I'm sorry, but this is quite simply incorrect, the last "possible" Swedish king Denmark had, was Eric the Victorious, and that's really uncertain (Most likely not true, since it would've been a time where Denmark was strong, had half of England and Norway and Eric is written elsewhere to have been a vassal of Sweyn.).

@hello: It is true Denmark had a few Norwegian kings, but only 1 since 936, and that lasted 5 years. Denmark has always been the more prestigious kingdom of the two, though Norway at certain times were stronger. The union was also put in place by the Norwegian Queen, not enforced by a Danish King I'll remind all you Norwegians who call it "Trehundredeårs natten"

The greatest Northern realms were Denmark under the Kalmar Union, or Denmark under Canute the Great, who were king of Denmark, England, Norway and some of Sweden.

Canute is the most mightful king of the north ever, and was seen as an equal to the Holy Roman Emperor when he visited Rome.

Canute was son of Sweyn Forkbeard a King of Denmark and Norway who is said to have taxed Swedish king Eric the Victorious at some point.

Denmark was the absolute strongest of the North until the Thirty Years War were Denmark suffered a crushing defeat to Sweden (with help from the Netherlands), where after Sweden had great victories in Germany, that had Sweden enter the stage as a Great Power till the Great Northern War where Finland was lost to Russia.

This is not just nationalism, but history, if you don't believe me visit your library or even try wikipedia, though you shouldn't believe everything written there.

Jag är dansk, men älskar Norge och Sverige likeså. Och mit svensk är inte bra.
