I remember a few years ago, Gothenburg ran out of garbage to burn and was on the brink of an energy crisis so they BOUGHT and imported trash from other countries (don't remember which one) It was so ironic since garbage is usually something people pay to get rid off so it was complained about being a huge waste of tax money.
Now we have a better steady supply from other nations, mostly Norway.
