@Saukkomies Because the soviet union had taken parts of Finnish territory. many thousands of Finns had previously been forced to run away and abandon their homes when the red army took Finnish land.

The continuation war was a direct consequence of that. It had nothing to do with supporting the nazi cause. Finns wanted their homeland back.
