@sneachda Well of course I can't speak for everyone. But I notice sometimes that we like to complain/grouse about how you guys do things, and we love to call you stupid and make jokes about you. We complain a lot about your roads and in that we are jealous i guess. Because you don't seem to mind that some of the roads are shit. We would go crazy and make everyone miserable until it got fixed. When we have the big Dutch spelling tests, it happens a lot that Flemish people are better in Dutch than we are. So because of things like that we hide our jealousy by calling you stupid.
Dutch people have done a lot in the past, were (as a small country) among the big players, and we brought a bit of ego with us. We see that Belgian people don't have that so much, you seem a little bit more grounded and polite and not too eager to speak.
We are a bit jealous of that. We want to be big and noticed but also refined and polite; it's hard to get the good combination of those things...
That's my opinion, the things I see around me. I love my country though and we like to laugh at ourselves too
