I don't know much about the subject but what wikipedia told me i think it does kinda make sense why it is called what it is? This is the map i was looking at: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/2b/Lenguas_fino-b%C3%A1lticas.png and the article about the baltic finns states that the population of baltic finns is 8.2 million of which 7 million are finns. That might all be beside the point but it's what i found out :o We don't use the term Baltic-finnic at all, i've only heard the language group being referred to as Finno-ugric....
