Probably counts lots of little tiny curiousity places. If there's a reason the number is oddly high, it's because I'm guessing....us being so huge lots of small whatever towns sometimes develop tiny little museums (as well as heavily questionable ones) to try and attract visitors who are passing by. The bad examples of these are of course tourist traps.
I bet Canada has some similar stuff to this given you're also huge. But maybe you guys don't travel cross country by car as much.
