What does politics have to do with anything?
I'm just tired of people looking at conservative stuff that until relatively recently (and even still) exist in the west, and acting like they don't recognize or get them. And acting like they're fundamental aspects of the "oriental world".
Like for instance being shocked at conservative dress in the Middle East, like the west wasn't damned similar 100 years ago or so. Like back when showing a woman's ankle was considered borderline pornographic.
