If they're not Mexican in heritage...than uh obviously they wouldn't be Mexican-American?
Obviously you don't call other people this without actually knowing about their background. I mean it would be basically racist to just assume a nationality/ethnicity based on appearance. So obviously I agree that you wouldn't do that.
