There are more museums in the U.S. than there are Starbucks 8 11, 5:53am

@Barracuda In my experience, you didn't assume too much. Those have been my experiences too. I've been to one museum that did focus on some of the bad aspects, but that was how it was related to the economical aspect of the U.S. south after the U.S. Civil War (1861-1865). No mention of anything else other than how economically depressed the south was after the war.

One of the things I hated about my history lessons in public school was how we never spoke of anything the U.S. did that wasn't a shining beacon of light. I read a lot about U.S. history during and after high school (I'm unsure what the Finish equivalent of high school is). I watched a lot of documentaries, a lot of specials displayed on both the History Channel (before it went full on reality tv) and the Public Broadcasting System. Given what I've learned about what the U.S. has done to not only our own people, but to everyone we've come across... I can not take pride in my country's history. I can, and am trying, to change our future. Sadly it seems as though everyone is more interested in going backward. I have very few like minded friends when it comes to the future of the U.S. and the world.
