Nice! It sounds a little bit like our "Fastelavn"
we just dress up as whatever we want, we allso have some funny traditions, like "slå katten af tønden" =" hit the cat off the barrel" funny ( or horrerbell) is; back in the old days, we put real black cats into the barrel's and hit it, untill the barrel was destroyed and the cat was dead, now we just put candy in it ( i Think USA has spmething to do with the change, but I dont know for sure. )
