My theory is that it could be a knife or a dagger that's just been worn down after being underground for so long, or may even be a metal thing that somehow got into a river, which covered it with mud and sand over time, judging by the fact that it looks a bit rusty at the rounded part, as well as smoothed down. But I mean, I'm not the expert so :p
