@Xywzel It has a reason. "Godzilla" is a portmanteau of the japanese word for "whale", which is "kujira", and the japanese word for "gorilla", which is... "gorira" (in itself an adaptation of "gorilla"); therefore, when going the oppossite route, double l makes a comeback.
