Um, what? I'm sorry, but I can't seem to locate my original post. (Sure would be nice if there was a way to see the comment thread these mentions originate from.) Not sure if your analogy would make sense if I could. Halloween isn't an American holiday, but the way it's celebrated here is distinctly American. Just like Christmas isn't an American holiday but the way we celebrate it is American. Every country has its own way of celebrating these international holidays. Some of them have influenced the way America celebrates and America has influenced the way they celebrate. When cultures meet, they exchange materials, ideas, and customs. It's how the world works.
