Even if Islam became more widespread that doesn't mean that the burka will be widespread. The burka is already extremely rare - as I've stated earlier. Hardly ANYONE wears it. Besides Islam would have also change drastically to fit into people's life more easily. It would end up like Christianity and the Jewish faith. Both of those are very toned down in the West - or at least in Europe. That's just how it goes for religion. There's no reason to believe it will somehow be different for Islam. The three major religions spring from the same source material, after all.
And I'm perfectly capable of pointing out issues with all religions and cultures, so don't use that argument on me. Just because I have issues with this ban it doesn't mean that I don't have major issues with Islam and the culture that some Danish Muslims come from. I'm just against punishing the victims of that religion and culture. It will solve absolutely nothing.
This ban is like solving rape by simply banning mini-skirts. It's a ban that puts the blame on the victim.
