Yeah, it may be easier for the rivers if the US simply extend some reasonable environment-protection laws, rather than declaring the rivers to be people.
Well, the american conservatives may say it's an important issue, but their policies tend to be somewhat hypocritical, especially when it comes to minorities (and I feel confident saying that the rivers would be declared as such).
