I don't think that many people considered it reasonable that SpaceX had to delay landings at Vandenberg for a year to assess effects of rockets on local snail population. Measuring impact of sonic booms on harbor seal mating behavior was meme-worthy.
Water covers over two thirds of Earth, any bodies of it are hardly a minority.
