I think the South has it's own language. Regular English is rarely heard down there. The people all tend to speak with heavy Southern dialect that's almost impossible to translate unless you're also from the South. I'm from Missouri, St. Louis area, and have issues just going to Potosi, a boonie town about 50 miles south of St. Louis. They have a place called "The Christmas Shop" that sells incense and various types of tobacco, as well as...items used for smoking other things. It's ran by a group of women all over 70.
