UK is often represented by England in the main comics, which is why it felt most convenient to use him. When the Napoleon wars have previously been mentioned, it's also been England who's been referenced in the comics as representing the UK. I am of course aware that history is never this simple.
You are right that it would have probably been more accurate to refer to the entirety of the UK in the description though, so thank you for clearing that up for everyone!
