@Malcadon both also have a northern city with football teams named for the Cowboys, tho I prefer North Queensland for having a Bluey as a mascot. While Australia might not have the big events like the Battles of the Alamo (which, ok, we lost, but it served as a rallying cry) and San Jacinto, there are other events like the Ballarat miners strike in the Eureka Rebellion.
