At least unless yous saying your about 200 years old and speaking from personal experience. ;) Please provide some that there was a strong desire by the people of the current Grand Duchy to join the new state of Belgium rather than stay with the Netherlands. [Don't have time to check now but didn't they stay with the Dutch king as the head of state?]
You misread what I said. I said "Possibly the German speaking population". I never called them Germans I asked a question about why they stayed separate. I very much doubt it was a decision by Britain forcing the rest of Europe to accept their demands on an area that was of minimal importance to them as that makes no sense at all.
