If they don't win, I paid money to give them something worthless... and statistically that's almost certain to be the case, so I might as well have bought them a piece of paper that says "This was expensive. Please remember to recycle it when you're done looking at it."
If by some miracle they WON... I would have trouble feeling happy for them because I'm 100% wishing I'd kept the ticket and bought them a nice toaster oven or something.
