@Irene [grabs CH veteran mic] It's because of their relations then and now, the US helped the Philippines a lot to start being more modern and industrialized after 'beating' the shit out of Spain, and the US helped Philippines become independent...but some wars between them happened and shit so they became more distant then WW2 happened and the Americans got rid of the Japanese then there's modern day relations where Filipinos love Americans and think poorly of themselves. America does help Philippines economically and politically as well today.
