I'm not sure I'd like a house that has so much light, but I guess in Iceland it's not so bad, because it's dark for half the year anyway.
It's really quite a well-thought-out piece of architecture, though.
I've seen pictures of houses after big snowstorms in the Rocky Mountains and the upper Midwest part of the U.S. where
the snow piles up against the houses
like that. Fortunately, we never get that much snow all at once. We did once in the 19th century ( see ~
), but with the global climate warmer these days, we're not likely to see anything like that again any time soon.
