Community made Fact Card:

It takes approximately 1400 meters of yarn to make a simple sweater and at least twice that to knit a "fancy" one. It also takes 4pounds of clean fleece to make the yarn.

Nobody said the fact cards had to be about countries. The information is true enough, and the picture suits. That's all that matters.

That's not getting into the hours it takes. Even a basic hat can take an entire afternoon; the simplest sweater pattern using worsted-weight yarn is a commitment of at least a week.

This is why knit blankets and sweaters cost so much.... People often get shocked when they learn the price of those things!

The more you know how hard life was before, the more you understand why people before would value clothes and even consider it something worth passing down to the next generation as inheritance.
It also makes me realize...We are sorta wasteful these days given how often we buy new clothes :'D.
