Community made Fact Card:

To add a bit fuel to the beer stereotype, Denmark has a semi-holiday called J-dag (J-day), on which the Julebryg (Christmas beer) of various Danish breweries is released at 8:59 PM in bars.

It's just a figure of speech. Adding fuel to something means to make the point of it even stronger, just like when you "add fuel" to a car, as in filling it up with gasoline.

The holiday part is meant figuratively. That's why I used the term semi-holiday, because whilst it may not be a real holiday, many people treat it as one.

I would not call it a semi holiday. There is also P-day, when Påskebryg (easter brew) becomes available.

J-dag takes place on the first Friday in November, but there wasn't room enough to include that in the card.
