Estonian and Finnish languages belongs to Uralic language family instead of Indo-European like other Nordic countries. Yet both use same writing system: Latin instead of Cyrilic.

Also another thing to note is that. Majority of Uralic languages speaking people actually ARE in Russia but some of the people then migrated to today's Finland and Estonia regions VERY LONG TIME AGO. Estonian language is much more influenced by Baltic languages such as Lithuanian and Latvian Baltic languages (there is minor differences between each other) While Finland pretty much was just "**** that I am going to do this all my own way" and surprisingly Finnish language ACTUALLY DOES HAVE words from Sami language.

Trust me there is quite a lot of weird things going on in the world. You only need to ask if you want an example: I made a check on Maahanmuuttovirasto (Immigration office) and decision to grant citizenship ad individuals who have requested it top five right now are: Sweden, Russian Federation, Great Brittan, USA and Estonia. Estonia, Russia and Sweden don't surprise me much but USA and Great Brittan? So many different reasons that... I have no idea...
