Another fun fact: it is called fatherland¹, but mother tongue². Why? It's obvious: to confuse the poor souls who have decided to learn this unspeakably³, complicated⁴ language.

@DerDings Is it unspeakably complicated? I learned some German in high school and later on Duolingo, and the worst part so far is the gendered articles. (Seriously, there is NO pattern? But, languages are made of patterns. That seems vaguely improbable, just saying.) The sentence structure is not that bad once you figure out which clauses are allowed to go where, besides the situations where copying basic English sentence structure is acceptable.

So did Sister America completly forget about Brother Germany, and Russia?

And I know I could do Brother Russia/ Motherland thing but I wanted to use Sister Germany
