Fun fact the first woman American Ambassador was to Denmark and named Ruth Bryan Owen, she ended up marrying the captain of the Danish royal guard name Borge Rohde and she lived in Denmark until her death in 1954 at age 68, I was originally gonna add that in the comic but decided to leave it out to make the comic more funny and cute.
wiki about her https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruth_Bryan_Owen#:~:text=in%20March%201933.-,First%20U.S.%20female%20ambassador,King's%20Guard%2C%20on%20July%2011.
and cute video of Ruth and Borge wedding https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQNEDWqBa5M&t=44s
(there's three but I choose this one cause it looks like they're really enjoying each other's company)
and just in case anyone ask. Denmark put his beer bottle in his pocket he has cartoon logic pockets ok (he might be a bit tipsy...)
The US also has an interesting ambassador history with Sweden too, did you know that Benjamin Franklin was the first American Ambassador to Sweden? He never went there cause of old age but it's interesting, also Sweden was the first fully neutral country to recognized the US as an independent nation after defeating Britian in American Revlounary War
also, Sweden had a colony in America called New Sweden which part of Delaware, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey it only lasted for 17 years before it got absorbed into New Netherlands which got taken over by English
@Irene
She still had a diplomatic career, she just couldn't be ambassador to Denmark. She also had literary and filmmaking careers (is that the word? I dunno)
@Irene @yeehaw00 American ambassadors serve for 3 years and she did serve from 1933 to 1936 so she did serve a full term or at least almost a full term so she might have been given a different assignment and she decided she wanted to live in Denmark with her new Danish hubby which I think is sweet
originally I wanted to add Brother or Sister America handing Denmark Ruth Bryan Owen but I thought a disembody voiced that spoke in all caps would be funnier
plus I was kind of lazy and didn't want to draw Bro America (he's hard to draw ok...)
@Yeehaw00 it's the same comic I just had to add Denmark's beard and fix some minor drawing errors
glad you like it what's your favorite part? mine was Denmark freaking out hearing disembody voice yell his name and his first instinct was to yell "Ahh, I'm sorry please don't hurt me, she said she was divorced!"
@AmericanButterfly
Mine would probably be where he's like "I get the first female ambassador? ....... I'm keeping it!" The last panel was adorable too!
@Yeehaw00 Thanks I made that joke due to the fact she actually did end up living and dying in Denmark, and I wasn't originally gonna add Ruth's husband but I thought it would be cuter if I did, plus I like drawing the American hair bow and Danish bowtie on them.
@Yeehaw00 like how Danish Jewish balls had the Star of David, Humon seems to be inconsistent with how humans look, sometimes they're balls, sometimes they're weird shapes, sometimes they're humanoid forms with no features sometimes they're humans
