@finnhare Russia has proven to be a rather tumultuous neighbour, I admit that. And in no way I meant to implicate that the Soviet Union alone was responsible for our independence. I know our history well enough. Our relationships with Russian Empire/Soviet Union/Russia has been and always will be an important aspect of our well-being. Sure we have had our bitter wars in the past. But delving in the past is no way to build a stable future. Surely you can see what wealth Russian tourists have brought in our cities in the vicinity of the border and Russia is still our second most important trade partner.

I don't see any positive consequences siding with the other Nordic countries. They have very little to offer us. We are seen as Mongol subhumans from viewpoint of other Nordic countries.
