In Hungary, I remember a divide between districts in my Uni Town: in Upper Town of Szeged you give three kisses, starting from your left. In every other district you give two, usually starting from your right. This leads to much confusion and situations commonly referred to as "the dance of the cobra" where two people are trying to decide how many kisses would be appropriate and what side to start with, ending up bobbing their heads in an amusing manner...
