We live in a finite world with finite resources.
Larger population density means less resources for each individual.
Immigration means less resources for each individual.
Stable population size is a social choice (a social contract) to try to solve the Tragedy of the Commons problem. Ethnic estonians in Estonia have been among the most stable populations in the world for the last 120 years. Mass immigration would destroy all that.
