Is it really like that? Where I live, people just LOVE our flag. For us, it symbolized the struggle the people of the country endured to gain independence. Schools usually have weekly flag ceremonies. Especially during 17th August, every national TV channel will air the independence ceremony and schools also have flag bearing extracurricular. It's a big honor to be able to be the flag bearer at the National ceremony. It's mandatory for schools, government buildings, offices, and a lot of other building to have a raised flag. There are even rules for it!
