It is known some of the reasons (I doubt all) hence it is not well known the pace the penothypes change in a given population.
In Europe it is known, by the study of our ancestors bones, that middle age populations had lighter features.
It seems it does not take that much time.
The whole world is darkening it seems, and looking on what is happening to our climate, this makes sense.
